Diagonal chessboard tablet weaving

I got some proper tablets in the post today, a joint purchase with Hannah/CitrusGirrl, and thought I'd get started right away. Instead of alternating the colours through the corners to get alternating strands in the band, I put two colours together, ie: two yellow and two blue threads per tablet, blue-blue-yellow-yellow clockwise.

I thought this might get me a bolder pattern, but in fact it just confused me! With a bit of jiggling, the result is a weird skewed chequered effect, which I quite like. It's 50cm long, or 19.5 inches. It took me two episodes of The L Word and half an episode of Charmed. ;)
